June Election for Executive Board Positions

There will be four opportunities for executive board positions in the June election. Two member-at-large positions become available at the end of June. These are for one-year terms from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. Also, two positions are available for the balance of a one-year term from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021: road captain and membership secretary (if interested in one of these positions and willing to start immediately, please let Doug Myers know).

Could one of these vacancies be for you?

Road Captain: Solicit, receive, and review club-sanctioned rides.  Maintain and oversee online ride calendar. Maintain database of rides. Recruit and train ride leaders. Oversee ride leaders and promote adherence to rules of the road and ensure ride leaders have materials needed such as ride sign-in sheets and envelopes.  Must be patient while working out details with ride leaders. Must be able to respond quickly to ride submittals. This is a teamwork position and requires coordination between road captains as well as with the ride leaders. There are times when this position requires a substantial amount of time, particularly when posting rides for the upcoming month. Membership Secretary: Process new members’ applications. Maintain the membership files. Prepare a monthly report of membership to be presented at club meetings.

Member at Large: Assist the president and vice president in carrying out the duties of the executive board, including interacting as a conduit between the board and club members. Serve as a member of the club’s Safety Committee with a specific role to assess areas of concern on the road and to provide instruction for all members on how to ride safely, including writing articles for the Quick Releases.
