Ride Leader Workshop Postmortem

This is an easy one. The workshop was held February 8 starting at 7:00 PM and ending at 9:00 PM. The session was a resounding success, though different than previous workshops. There were approximately 21 attendees of which some were wannabes, which is great.

The workshop invitation promised pizza. The pizza was particularly good and well received. Primary obligation of the workshop achieved.

Also promised was presentation of certain ride leader links in the Ride Leader Info page on the club’s website, by Todd McCollum and Mark Hartel, with the primary focus on e-forms for submitting rides and maps. This created more questions and discussion than we had anticipated, and since this appeared to be a relevant topic, most of the session was devoted to it.  ✎

Also promised was discussion of topics that were submitted prior to the workshop. We needed another hour and a half to do these, but had less than half an hour. Some of the items were brought up early in the meeting and during the Ride Leader Info page presentation, so it wasn’t a complete bust.

I am sorry, but you would have had to have been there to have appreciated it. Because of venue availability, we are limited to schedule during a month when we are not having a club meeting at the church. We may try to do a Zoom meeting to visit the discussion topics that we did not get to.

We would have liked to have seen more ride leaders and hope that many more will be able to attend the next in-person or Zoom (if this happens) sessions.
