December 2023 Top Talk -Portland Bicycling Club

December 2023 Top Talk

The end of my term is drawing near, and I wanted to express my thanks to all the wonderful people who have supported me during this past year. We have a strong board, and I know the future is bright.

This year my goal was to make the bike club more visible. We have been able to encourage more membership and focus on welcoming new riders as potential new members. We have identified new members on rides and made them feel part of the group, encouraging them to find their niche in the variety of our bike rides. We have been able to get our club name out there with stickers, new apparel, booth participation in the Sunday Parkway rides, sponsorship of the Pioneer ride, and support with the Seattle to Portland ride. Our club is strong and continuing to grow.

I also want to express my appreciation for the friendships that I have developed in the club. I have enjoyed time with folks outside just the bike riding and cherish those growing relationships.

I will continue to be an active member of the club. I know the club will be in good hands and that members will continue to “Take life by the handlebars!”®

Please remember to put Thursday evening, February 1, on your calendar for the annual bike club banquet. It will be at the Monarch Hotel again and will be an enjoyable time to socialize with your fellow bike enthusiasts.
