Your Club at Work

As promised, the board has determined which non-club event rides will earn club mileage for 2020. Only seven were chosen, so if you see others offered that you think club members would enjoy, don’t hesitate to submit them to the board for consideration. Here are the selected rides:

Date Event Supporting… Ride Leader
4/26 Monster Cookie Salem Bicycle Club Ann Morrow
5/16 Reach the Beach American Lung Association Dick Weber
6/13 Gorge Ride Friends of the Historic Columbia River Hwy. Dick Weber
8/22 Petal Pedal Oregon Garden Chip Kyle
7/25 Ride Around Clark County Vancouver Bicycle Club Stacy Barbadillo
9/12-9/19 Cycle Oregon Community Projects Eric Hendricks
9/27 Harvest Century Community Vision Kathleen Hellem

Please note: if you are one of the ride leaders, you need to submit the ride information to the road captains, sooner rather than later, so ride events are on our ride calendar. The ride leaders will have sign-in sheets at the event and try to accommodate everyone; but, let’s face it, it can be challenging to personally contact all club members at one of these events. If you don’t get signed in, just email or call the ride leader with your club rider ID number and mileage.

2021 is Portland Bicycling Club’s 50th anniversary. What do YOU think we should do to celebrate? A special jersey? Socks? Water bottles? What about publicity? Share your ideas with the board to ensure we have a year to remember.
