Bike Shop Discounts

A wonderful benefit of being a member of the Portland Bicycling Club is the discount that many bike shops extend to us as members. To view a list of current bike shops that provide a discount, click HERE. Bicycles and trailers are not included in the discount program. The Bike Gallery stores have offered us discounts in the past, and many members have reported getting a discount at certain locations, so you may want to ask politely.

To use your discount, you must show your current membership card at the time of purchase. Please show your card discreetly as not all shoppers receive this advantage. Remember, this is a privilege these merchants have extended to our club members, so please be polite and appreciative as you represent Portland Bicycling Club in the community. Do not ask for a discount if you don’t have your card with you.

If you have a smart phone, think about taking a picture of your current membership card. (This was suggested by the manager of River City Bicycles.) That way you are almost always guaranteed to have your card with you on your phone.

If you would like to print out your Rider ID card, first log in to the PBC website. Go to your account page, and click on the blue rectangle below the text that reads Rider Card. This will download a PDF that can be printed, cut out, and folded. If you happen to have some card stock around, it makes for a sturdier card.
