STP Training Ride #7: Columbia River XLV -Portland Bicycling Club

STP Training Ride #7: Columbia River XLV

Description

I thought about calling this ride Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg but decided that might be too difficult to remember, so I'm calling it the Columbia River XLV instead. We'll head west on the Oregon side of the Columbia and then go east on the Washington side of the river. From there, we'll go out to Troutdale, where we'll stop at the Troutdale Station food carts for a break, and then return along the Columbia to the start.

You don't need to be a PBC member to attend. This ride is open to anyone who wants to get ready for the next edition of the famous Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic, which will be held the weekend of July 15-16 this year. Online signup for this training ride is available, even to non-members, until 9:00 AM the day of the ride; or you will also be able to sign up in person at the start.

We'll meet at 9:45 AM and plan to leave at 10:00 AM. I'm subbing as ride leader for Dave McQuery on this ride and intend for it to be a group ride, but if some riders want to go faster, that option would be considered non-group. Faster riders are welcome to proceed at their own pace.

Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride: https://portlandbicyclingclub.com/protocols/
