Rookie Ride or Back in the Saddle Again
If you’re new to riding or haven’t been on your bike in a while due to injury, pandemic, or just plain ol’ binge-watching old, favorite movies on Netflix, dust off your bike and leave the planning to us. Join us for these mostly flat, easy rides catering to newer, slower riders.
Members and prospective members, sign in will be online or by email (include your name, rider number and emergency contact info). The number of participants is limited to 12.
Please read PBC Protocols and Ride Procedures ( https://portlandbicyclingclub.com/protocols/ ) about COVID-19 modifications before you sign up for the ride. Masks required; maintain social distance of six feet.
If you’re new, you will also want to read Ride Ratings, Requirements, and Tips ( https://portlandbicyclingclub.com/home/ride-ratings-requirements-and-tips/ )about riding with the club before you arrive for the ride.
This is a turnaround, out-and-back, group ride, 10 miles in length, with an option to end early at 5 miles. A “group” ride means that we will stay with you as we ride, and our pace will be about 10-12 MPH maximum with modifications for the specific group.
We will meet at Main City Park in Gresham at 10:15 AM, leave at 10:30 AM, ride west on the Springwater Corridor Trail to the Linneman Station Trailhead Park, take a break, turn around, and return east to Main City Park. We will say goodbye to those only wanting to complete 5 miles and then continue east to just short of SE 262nd Avenue & SE Telford Road where we will turn around and return again to Main City Park for a total of 10 miles.
Afterwards, we will meet in the outdoor seating area at Jazzy Bagels, 5 East Powell Boulevard, Gresham, OR 97030.
