Ride of Silence

Description

Ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. with departure at 7 p.m.. This is part of a worldwide event to honor bicyclists killed in car/bike crashes, promote sharing the road and provide awareness of bicycling safety. The route will take us to the sites of 5 car/bike crashes which resulted in the death of the cyclists. The terrain is relatively flat (350 feet of elevation gain) and participants may leave the ride at any time. This will be a group ride with a maximum speed of 12 mph. Helmets are mandatory. Please have lights (think funeral protocol) and a black arm band would be appropriate.
