Reverse Kelley Point Two Bridge Loop
Description
Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow for sign-up/check-in. Cue sheets will be available if requested in advance. Online sign-up is available until 6:00 a.m. the day of the ride, but you can still sign up at the start. Light rain is okay, heavy rain will shorten the ride, and snow or ice cancels.
The club has taken this ride many times, but usually in the other direction. We will be stopping for coffee near the end of the ride at Samo's Bistro, NE 72nd and Prescott. They have coffee, cookies, muffins, soda as well EXCELLENT BURGERS & FRIES and a large assortment of beer and wine. They have both indoor and outside seating. Good bike parking, but bring a lock.
I intend for this to be a group ride, but if some riders want to go faster, I would treat that part as a non-group ride. For the group portion of the ride, the pace of the group will be the pace of the slowest rider. The faster riders may proceed at their own pace, so long as they follow the course. The route deviates slightly from the RwGPS map provided in that there is a new bridge over the railroad tracks a couple of miles south of Kelley Point. The first potty stop will be at Bybee Lake, unless we need to deviate a few blocks to the new esplanade on the Vancouver Waterfront.
Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride. https://portlandbicyclingclub.com/protocols/
