North Plains – Helvetia – Mountaindale loop -Portland Bicycling Club

North Plains – Helvetia – Mountaindale loop

Description

A lovely 22 mile loop in the heart of scenic Washington County farm country. The terrain is flat with just a few rollers/small hills; total elevation gain ≈ 600'. This is a Non-Group ride but we mostly plan to stay together. Sign-in with the ride leaders at the start.

Notes:
1) There are restrooms at Jessie Mays park (start location) but few, if any, other restrooms on the route.
2) Unfortunately, there are no coffee shops on this route.
3) If anyone's interested we plan to go to Helvetia Tavern (10275 NW Helvetia Rd) for a post-ride lunch. Note: The tavern does not take credit cards, only cash or checks are accepted.
4) The Ride w/GPS map (link below) shows a total distance of 28 miles. This is due to an optional out & back section on Dairy Creek Rd which we don't plan to do on this ride, i.e., the total distance will be 22 miles.

Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride.
