North Plains – Helvetia – Mountaindale Loop -Portland Bicycling Club

North Plains – Helvetia – Mountaindale Loop

Description

A scenic 22 mile loop in the heart of Washington County farmlands (28+ miles for those who do the optional out & back on Dairy Creek Rd). The terrain is mostly flat with a few rollers & small hills. Although this is a Non-Group ride we mostly plan to stay together. Faster riders are welcome to ride ahead &/or do the out & back side trip on NW Dairy Creek Rd, a little past mile 18.5. There is a Ride w/GPS map (see link below), and a few paper maps will be available at the start. Unfortunately there are no coffee shops along the route, but the ride leaders plan to drive to nearby Helvetia Tavern for a post-ride lunch. Sign-in is at the start. Notes:

1) The parking lot for Jesse Mays Community park is currently closed, but there is on-street parking available nearby.
2) The only restrooms are at the start in Jesse Mays park.
2) Ride may be cancelled in the event of heavy rain - if in doubt please contact the ride leaders beforehand regarding ride status.

Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride.
