Hillsboro to Vernonia via Timber Road

Description

Bicycle to Vernonia from REI at Tanasbourne, via Evergreen,
Cornelius Schefflin, Verboort, Hillside and Clapshaw Roads
to Hwy.6 and the turnoff to Timber Rd. Between Hwy. 6 and Hwy. 26
prepare for some switchback ascents on Timber Rd. Two summits
on Timber Rd. with light traffic on this shoulderless, remote road.
We will re-group so no one is left alone.

Planned lunch at mile 48 at the Black Iron Grill (other outlets available).
After lunch, ride nearly 20 miles on the Banks-Vernonia State Trail.
Refuel in Banks and pedal the last 17 miles on flat roads.

Sparse refreshment opportunities, so bring 2 water bottles.
Elevation gain over 3000 feet.
