Hillsboro to PDX via B-V Trail, S-V Hwy, and US 30
Description
Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride.

The ride starts from the Insomnia Coffee Co in downtown Hillsboro. Riders can take the Blue MAX train to the end of the line, and go three blocks east on Main St to the coffee house.
After biking twelve miles to Banks, and 21 miles on the Banks-Vernonia State Trail, stop for lunch at a restaurant in Vernonia. Leave Vernonia riding Hwy 47 for five miles, and then begin 20 miles on the Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy. Climb to the Nehalem Divide and then descend into Scappose. Loggers clear-cut a large area along the S-V Hwy decades ago. Logging trucks are still common on weekdays. If needed, stopping at Icabod’s Restaurant in Scappoose for pie and ice-cream is always a good option. From Scappose, ride 14 miles of rolling terrain on US 30 to the St John’s Bridge. Cross the bridge, continue on Willamette Blvd, Rosa Parks Way, Vancouver Ave, and Multnomah St, to finish at Holladay Park. If needed, take the Blue MAX train back to Hillsboro.
Elevation gain: 3,900'.
I look forward to a new ride with good places to eat along the way!
