Ron Householder Memorial -Portland Bicycling Club

Ron Householder Memorial

Ron Householder (pictured on the left), a long-time member, bequeathed funds to our club with the stipulation that they be used for a celebration after his passing. As such, on Saturday, September 14, we will be having a celebration for members at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse McMenamins!

SPECIAL REQUEST: For those attending who knew Ron, please bring photos, newspaper clippings, and/or be willing to share stories.

Rides will start at 10:00 AM at the Roadhouse. There is an approximately 30-mile, moderately paced regroup option (led by Scott Poindexter) that will go through the Helvetia Hills and back on Evergreen. There will be another regroup option, approximately 26 miles, for those who want a flatter route and more leisurely pace, out to Roy on roads such as Scotch Church, Susbauer, Hornecker, etc. If you plan on only riding, and not attending the luncheon, there is no need to register.

You are welcome to attend the luncheon at 12:45 PM whether or not you participate in a ride. McMenamin’s classic dishes and lemonade will be provided; plan on purchasing your own alcohol. We ask that you please register for the luncheon, as it is limited to 100 people. While the celebration is for members only, each member can bring one guest (please register guest). CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. Registration closes Saturday, September 7.

Parking is available on site prior to the lunch. Additionally, McMenamins requests that if you wear cleats you bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid damage to the floor. Other than that, since the luncheon is catered, all we ask is that you show up and have fun!
