The Central Oregon Menage a Trois: Camp Sherman, Wizard Falls, Metolius River

Description

Distances: 56, 51, 46, and 40 miles. Leaves from Village Green Park at Fir and Jefferson in Sisters, Oregon. Cruise past farms, ranches, and lodge pole pine and Ponderosa pine forests. Take photo stops at the Metolius River headwaters and Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery. The lunch stop is at the Camp Sherman General Store at picnic tables on the grass under the Ponderosa pines.

If you are looking for accommodations for this event Bend is between Sisters and Prineville. Sisters is a 20 mile drive west of Bend and Prineville is 40 miles east of Bend. If you prefer to camp Tumalo State Park is 5 miles west of Bend. You can reserve camp space at state parks exactly 6 months early. State park campgrounds fill up very quickly after that 6 month time. I am staying at the Bend Riverside which shares a fence line with the park where the Bend ride starts.
