Newberg Scenic Gravel -Portland Bicycling Club

Newberg Scenic Gravel

Description

Come out for a scenic, challenging gravel ride starting from Newberg. This route--Chehalem Vineyard Tour--is brought to you by the good folks at Dirty Freehub. This is the newest of their 5-star ride series. 32.3 miles with 3700 feet of climbing. 65% gravel, 35% pavement. Here is a link to their site with the route description and RWGPS link: https://dirtyfreehub.com/adventure/oregon-x/chehalem-vineyard-tour/?fbclid=IwAR3_ZLk3z-ZzIhWDWgOZf3nTSDt6bYvHnqCznlew1p9-6-xrx4y-LVft0GQ If needed, I can email you the .fit file.

This is NOT a road ride. A gravel bike or hardtail mountain bike is a must. I ride with 42c tires and often wish for more. Come with your sense of adventure and with everything you need to be self-sufficient in the way of water, food/snacks, tools and spares. You must have the route loaded into your GPS device. That said, we will regroup from time to time at the tops of big climbs or at major turn. While the pace is listed as moderate it will be challenging. Email me with any questions.

Do not come if you are not vaccinated for COVID-19. Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride. https://portlandbicyclingclub.com/protocols/
