Yamhill Gravel 8 -Portland Bicycling Club

Yamhill Gravel 8

Description

This tried and true scenic route from Yamhill is both beginner-friendly and rewarding for more advanced riders. People wanting a shorter ride can opt for about 21 miles, those riding the full route will do 41 miles. Full route is 74% unpaved roads with about 3250 feet of climbing. The shorter route looks to have about 1500 feet of unpaved climbing, and will be roughly equal to riding the club’s Wednesday Roller Coaster ride.

A gravel/cross bike or hardtail mountain bike is recommended. I ride knobby 42’s, skilled riders can do it on 35’s. Come with your sense of adventure along with everything you need to be self-sufficient in the way of water, food/snacks, tools and spares. Please have the route loaded into your GPS device or phone. We will regroup at the tops of big climbs and at major turns etc. The pace is listed as brisk and it will be challenging. Email me with any questions.

Pace: Will be "brisk", but as this is a gravel ride, we won't be averaging 15-17 mph as the road metric indicates.

Do not come if you are not vaccinated for COVID-19.

Please read the Covid protocols before attending the ride. https://portlandbicyclingclub.com/protocols
