Wildcat Gravel Ride -Portland Bicycling Club

Wildcat Gravel Ride

This ride has been canceled!

Description

Meetup at the restrooms at the Banks-Vernonia Trailhead in Banks. Similar in distance and elevation to last weekend’s adventure, but different :).

We will regroup at important turns and hilltops. Ride ends a stone’s throw from the start at Hop Cycle Brewing for libations and lunch.

This is a mixed-surface ride. That means pavement, gravel, and maybe even goat paths. Wide, low-presssure tires are strongly recommended - 32c minimum, the bigger the better. Which bike? CX, Gravel/Adventure, Hardtail/Rigid MTB, Jan Heine-style rig etc etc. You MUST be self-supported on this ride. Bring your own flat repair kit, spare tube, air, tools, snacks, water, etc. Murphy’s Law loves gravel rides.

Pace if this was flat land (it ain’t): 17-19mph. These rides attract a wide range of riders with a wide range of abilities. Fast riders will consider this social, slower riders will enjoy a challenge. We will regroup regularly (tops of climbs, critical turns, etc) but make sure to have the route on your GPS.

Elevation gain: 3029 feet.
