Wednesday Waterfalls: Ventura Park to Multnomah Falls

WEDNESDAY WATERFALLS SERIES: THEME & VARIATIONS. This is the crème de la crème in the Waterfalls Series! We will ride to the Columbia River Gorge to view Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Shepperd's Dell Falls, Wahkeena Falls, and the pièce de résistance Multnomah Falls. This is a wonderful ride for anyone who enjoys scenic miles, good company, and a route that feels like a true getaway more than a workout.

NEW START TIME IN AUGUST: 8:00 AM. We'll start in the city warming up on mostly flat roads for about 15 miles. Once we reach the Columbia River Gorge, as we pass each of the magnificent waterfalls, we'll stop briefly for a photo opp. Restrooms will be at the start location, Bridal Veil Falls, and Multnomah Falls. We'll have a brief rest stop at Multnomah Falls to refill water bottles and have a snack before we turn around for the return ride, and a second rest stop at Rivertrails Café in Troutdale (or if the temperature is really hot, we'll stop at the Sugarpine walk-up window for ice cream).

You'll have the option to ride with me as a group (we'll re-group at key points) and must be able to maintain a minimum cruising speed of 13 MPH on a flat or gentle hill terrain. Once we reach the Columbia River Gorge, we'll take a slower pace for climbing. Riders slower than 13 MPH on Level A terrain, and faster riders, are welcome to participate non-group and ride at their own pace.

Variation: If you're interested in a shorter ride but still want to go to Multnomah Falls, you can start at Mile 14, making your total ride 49 miles. We'll pick you up in Troutdale at about 9:00 AM. Please let me know before the ride if you choose this option so we can make arrangements to meet you.
