Vernonia from Hillsboro via Timber Road

Looking for some STP training or just a great trek without having to drive way out of town? Take a ride with us as we start at the upper parking lot of REI at the Streets of Tanasbourne, Hillsboro, traverse west through Washington County farmland then head north into the forested and lightly traveled roads towards Vernonia. Once there we will stop for lunch at the bike-friendly Black Iron Grill before heading back via the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. We will re-group at the rest stops at 26 miles (food store/gas station), 48 miles (lunch) and 69 miles (Banks-Vernonia Trail Head). Bring enough food and water bottles to get to each stop as there isn't anything in between. In an effort to save paper, printed maps and cue sheets will NOT be available at the start of the ride. Please print one at home using the PDF provided below and/or download the route into your GPS device using the RideWithGPS link.
