Vernonia from Hillsboro via Timber Road

Looking for a great trek without having to drive way out of town? Take a ride with us as we start at the upper parking lot of REI at the Streets of Tanasbourne, Hillsboro.
Traverse west through Washington County farmland then north into the forested and lightly traveled roads towards Vernonia, Once there we will stop for lunch at the bike-friendly Black Iron Grill before heading back via the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. We will re-group at the rest stops at 25 miles (food store/gas station), 48 miles (lunch) and 69 miles (Banks-Vernonia Trail Head). Bring enough food and water bottles to get to each stop as there isn't anything in between. Pace 15 - 17 mph.
