Three County Explorer

Description

If you are looking to bag 3 counties and 3000+ feet of elevation in one day, this is the ride for you! We'll start in Washington County at the last MAX stop in Hillsboro and make our way to the Banks-Vernonia Trailhead in Banks. 21 miles of paved bike trail will take us to Vernonia for our lunch/snack stop in Columbia County. Next, we'll traverse the hills between Vernonia and Scappoose, passing through Pittsburgh (Oregon) and Spitzenburg. The final leg takes us to Multnomah County via Highway 30 and the St. John’s Bridge back to Northeast Portland. For those who drive to Hillsboro for the start, the return is via MAX. The ride leader will be starting from Northeast Portland and taking MAX out to the start (one hour MAX ride).
