STP Training Ride #9–Frenchman’s Bar from Wilshire Park
Description
Continuing our STP Training series with another ride of a bit more than 40 miles. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in and announcements.
This is a re-group ride, so if you wish to ride faster or slower than the pace I set, you should download the map. I can provide a cue sheet it you ask at least one day in advance so I can e-mail it to you.
This ride provides an opportunity to just get out and roll. Set a pace that you feel you can sustain all day. Find a pedaling cadence and a level of effort you can sustain, then find the gears that will give you that. The speed will be what it is. But you should be able to sustain 13-15 mph to successfully complete the STP in two days. That pace is for level, paved ground, with no wind. Break near the end of the ride at Samo's Bistro--NE 72nd and NE Prescott.
Re-group at Vancouver Waterfront, Frenchman's Bar, and Samo's.
