Portland to Eugene Loaded Tour

Description

This tour runs Thursday 6/28 thru Tuesday 7/3, and includes 3 hot springs, 2 scenic bikeways and spectacular views of Mt. Jefferson and the 3 sisters from the seldom seen west side. An added bonus is a train trip from Eugene to Portland on the last day of the tour. You will need to make train reservations for yourself and your bicycle. Tour group limited to 4 riders due to length and difficulty; elevation gain is 11,000 feet. Contact the ride leader to sign up. Day 1. Gresham Jazzy Bagel to Riverside campground on Clackamas river past Ripplebrook general store - 46 miles. (Roaring rivers scenic bikeway). Day 2. Detroit Lake by remainder of Roaring rivers - 44 miles. Optional stop at Austin Hot Springs for a soak. Day 3. Belknap hot springs via hwys 22/126 - 50 miles. The resort has hiker/biker and access to outdoor hot springs pool. Day 4. Kiahanie campground on Aufderheide Scenic byway - 44 miles. Optional stop at Cougar Hot Springs for a soak. Day 5. Dexter (RV park camping) via hwy 58 and Aufderheide - 85 miles. RV park is behind the Dexter Inn where part of Animal House was filmed. Day 6. Eugene via 58 and Eugene pedestrian/bike trail. Late afternoon Amtrak back to PDX - 21 miles.
