NEW YEAR’S DAY RIDE

Description

This traditional ride is a celebration of a new year of cycling and our club and the members who enhance our riding experiences. We will ride an urban loop and see if any other intrepid cyclists have ventured out as well. This first ride of the year allows all of us equal status for the coveted club mileage. The hammer heads and the slow rollers alike enjoy a brief moment together and then the quest for mileage begins in earnest! Hopefully we can find a coffee shop open on the holiday. It's Portland, something will be open, right?

We'll head south to the Sellwood Bridge on the west side of the Willamette and come back along the east side. If the weather is miserable, you can end the pain and suffering at this point. Otherwise, we'll find some coffee downtown then loop north and northwest in the city.
