Solar Eclipse POTOB (Path of Totality or Bust) Ride

Description

Start point: Press Café, 16325 SW Barrows Rd, Beaverton, OR 97007. Arrive early as parking is limited and you may need to park in the neighborhood across Barrows Road.
Start time: 7:30 am.
Terrain: Mostly flat.
Pace: Moderate.

Description: Alison Pfeifer is planning this ride and has invited us to join her and some friends. The idea is to travel to St. Paul for a viewing of the total solar eclipse while avoiding car traffic. The eclipse is supposed to be total at 10:18 am. This ride will take the place of the usual 10:00 am Monday Shute Park to Banks ride. By the way, POTOB stands for “Path of Totality or Bust.”

The 51 mile option will take you to St. Paul, which is in the Path of Totality.
The 33 mile option will take you to southern Newberg, just short of the Path. Wheelman Gary Shuler has invited us to view the eclipse from his home, including refreshments. Leading to his house is a one-eight mile hard-packed gravel driveway. If you choose this option, please email me at [email protected] so Gary will know how many to expect.
