Marine Drive Path and Mt Tabor from Wilshire Park
Sign-up
Description
Stretch your legs on bike paths and then climb one of the Portland volcanoes. This route drops down from Wilshire Park to the Marine Drive bike path at 33rd Drive, and follows the path to the intersection with the I-205 path. We travel south on that path past the Gateway Green MTB park to Gateway transit center, then switch to surface streets as we approach and climb Mt. Tabor, before returning to the start. Bathroom/water at Gateway Green and Mt. Tabor; coffee or snack at Grand Central Bakery at NE 44th and Fremont near the end of the ride.
Ride leader will be riding at the posted cruising speed of 15-17 mph on the flats/bike paths. This is a re-group ride, we will generally stay together and re-group at key points along the ride so no-one is left behind. Feel free to treat the ride as a non-group ride if you wish to ride faster or slower and you know the route and/or have the map; just let the ride leader know.
