This ride has been canceled!

Description

UPDATE: There is a forest fire from Stevenson, WA to Wind Mountain. For the safety of the riders we will cancel Friday's portion only of this scheduled ride but Saturday's portion from Lyle to Goldendale is still on, starting from Lyle, WA. .............. Original Ride posting for reference only: Bring your overnight camping gear for this first day. We will be camping in Lyle this night only. Meet at the north end of the Gateway Transit Center Park and Ride and gather at the bus stop to ride the Gorge Explorer to Cascade Locks. Fee for the bus ride is $5.00 each way. We can stop in Cascade Locks for lunch then ride across the Bridge of the Gods, with an interesting panoramic view of the Columbia River, and follow Highway 14 through the picturesque town of Stevenson, WA. We will continue on Highway 14 through five short tunnels and end up at our destination campsite at the corner of old Highway 8 and Highway 14, where we will be staying overnight. On Saturday morning we will store our camping gear at a safe place, then meet other riders doing the Lyle-Goldendale Loop starting at 9:30, at the intersection of Highway 14 and 5th, in Lyle. After completing the Lyle-Goldendale Loop on day two, we will continue riding back to Cascade Locks to catch the Gorge Explorer for our trip back to the Gateway Transit Center. For the second day Lyle-Goldendale Loop ride information, refer to day two.
