Larch Mountain from Lewis and Clark State Recreation Site
Description
The Larch Mountain ride starts at the Lewis and Clark State Recreation Site in the parking lot. We'll head up the Historic Columbia River Hwy to E Larch Mountain Rd. We'll finish our climb a little beyond the Larch Mountain Parking and Trailhead lot. On the way back, a nice descent all the way to the car. It is 50 miles, half of which is a climb. The grade is not super painful—a great training ride.
The Sunday series features a specific ride on a designated Sunday of each month. There are four or five Sundays each month. The 2025 Sunday series is planned until the end of October and will likely be extended. The Larch Mountain ride is held on the first Sunday of each month; therefore, this ride will occur on the first Sunday of every month.
Rides leave at the posted time, so arrive early enough to be ready. Rides may commence in cold and wet weather; however, they will be canceled if conditions are deemed unsafe or excessively unpleasant. Please check the ride status on the calendar within two hours of the scheduled start time. Come with a sense of adventure and self-reliance. You are expected to bring what you need to fix a flat and keep yourself on track. Bring food, water, and the appropriate kit. Print and bring the PDF directions if you don't use GPS. Please note that this is a non-group ride, allowing participants to ride at their own pace. There is a restroom at the Lewis and Clark ride start.
