Gresham Family Ride -Portland Bicycling Club

Gresham Family Ride

Description

This is a fun ride designed for the whole family! It travels at a slow pace (not more than 10 mph) on bike paths free from auto traffic. The ride will be led and chaperoned by two seasoned bike riders. No one will be left behind. The route is approximately 8 ½ miles and passes interesting Gresham sites. The ride begins at 1:00 p.m. from the parking lot at Gresham’s Main City Park. After a brief visit to Gresham’s Japanese Garden, we will travel west on the Springwater Trail to the Gresham-Fairview Trail and follow that to Halsey Street. We then retrace our route, stopping near 201st and Burnside for a snack at the new food carts. We then travel the new Wy’East Trail, which takes us back to Gresham City Center and Main City Park. We will make a very brief stop at the new Gresham Mural Project on the Wy’East Trail. Children must be accompanied by an adult and all riders must wear approved helmets. This is a great introduction to the fun of bike riding and will include some information about safe bicycling.
