French Prairie Loop: Champoeg State Park – St. Paul – St. Louis

The start is at the far west side of the park. More directions below. Join us on this scenic loop over mostly flat terrain with a few rollers through the historic French Prairie area just south of Champoeg State Park. We’ll stop for coffee 11 miles into the ride stop at Banker’s Cup café in downtown St. Paul. After coffee we’ll continue south to the (very) small town of St Louis then loop back north to Champoeg. Suggest bringing a picnic lunch for after the ride. This ride starts at Champoeg State Park/Riverside Day Use area . From I-5 southbound take the Ehlen Rd/Aurora Exit (#278), turn right (west) and follow the signs to Chamoeg. After entering the park go to the self-serve kiosk at bottom of hill (Note: $5 day use parking fee) then make a hard left turn and go west 0.8 mile to the Riverside Day Use area. Pace: 13 - 15 mph. Total elevation gain: Approximately 600 feet.
