Dixie Mountain Gravel Ride -Portland Bicycling Club

Dixie Mountain Gravel Ride

Description

Come out for something a little different. This is a great ride for the gravel-curious looking for a challenge. This is a mixed route - some pavement, mostly gravel. Lots of up and down, but only 3,100 feet of climbing. A little fast bird has told me that as of last week the gravel conditions have smoothed out considerably compared to last fall. Pace if this was flat land: 17-19 mph.

That being said, wider low-pressure tires - 32c or bigger - are strongly recommended. CX, hardtail, gravel, adventure, Jan Heine rigs, etc., etc. You MUST be self-supported on this ride. Bring your own flat repair kit, tools, snacks, water, etc. Murphy’s Law loves gravel rides. We will regroup regularly but make sure you have the route on your GPS.
