Cove Palisades Camping Trip – Day 1

Explore some of the most scenic parts of the state on this three ride camping weekend in Central Oregon. We will be staying at the Crooked River Campground at Cove Palisades State Park near Madras. All of the campsites have water and electricity at each site. Make your own campground reservations at 1-800-452-5687 or at oregonstateparks.org. Event headquarters is at campsite E31. If you aren't a camper you can book a motel in Madras, about 10 miles away. DAY 1 RIDE: The Cove Palisades, Round Butte Dam, Madras Loop. Leaves at 9:00 AM from campsite #31 at the Crooked River Campground at Cove Palisades State Park. Ride the bluff above Lake Billy Chinook and over to Round Butte Dam. Then head to Madras for a lunch stop before heading back on mostly back roads.
