Eagle Creek to Viento Park RT

Description

If you missed the on-line sign-in cutoff, then please sign in with the ride leader at the start.

We will park at Eagle Creek Car Park and Restroom.
This is a wonderful journey on mostly asphalt bike path and little traveled county roads. Overhanging vegetation, views of Columbia River, Washington Mountains, and the Locks in the Bonneville Dam make this a once in a lifetime requirement right up there with The Barlow Road ride.
There is one "Hill from hell" so it is recommended that non-eBike riders be in top hill climbing shape. Not a suggested ride for out -of-shape, return-to-riding
participants. (Recent experiences with non-eBike riders resulted in them having to walk most of the Hill From Hell).

e-Trikes are definitely welcome. Trail is mainly flat with minor ups and downs and one big Hill From Hell (it goes and goes).

A recent ride with 7 eBikes had no bikes running out of power.

We will eat sack lunches at the turnaround point at Viento Park. Riders are responsible for their lunches or snacks whatever. We ride through Cascade Locks which has many restaurants. . . however . . . this happens very early in the ride and very late in the ride long before and after nutrition is needed.

This will not be a rabid peloton rush to capture miles. We will keep together and proceed at a moderate pace. However, if participants want to proceed ahead of the group, they can wait at the next split in the path/road.

This is an eye-opening experience to what the Gorge has to offer cyclists. More vegetation than the Springwater. No Mystery Ride is scheduled for this day (so far).

Lots of parking. Bathrooms at start and along the way.
