Carlton Bakery Run
Description
A beautiful ride through the Yamhill Country wine region, stopping halfway at the legendary Carlton Bakery. Not just homemade pastries and macarons, but fresh, locally sourced sandwiches on fresh baked bread. You'll need the carbs as the second half traverses the rollers north of Newberg before climbing over the Chehalem Mountains and descending into Sherwood for a coffee and water break.
Bypassing the Roy Roger road construction mess means a couple short hills, but it's worth getting away from traffic and the last 10 miles are flat. We start and finish at the upper parking lot of REI at the Streets of Tanasbourne, Hillsboro. Pace 15-17 mph.
