Your Club Needs You!!!
We hope that you’re enjoying all of the aspects and activities of the 55 year old Portland Bicycling Club: the daily rides; the monthly club meetings with interesting presentations and refreshments; the summer club picnic; the winter awards banquet; the annual Pioneer Century event ride; the STP finish line; and of course, this monthly newsletter! As you may know, the club is run solely by members like yourself who volunteer their time to make the club run smoothly.
We’re encouraging you to consider volunteering to help out with one or more of these vital activities. In particular, we’re needing people to assist with the organization of the Pioneer Century and the STP finish line, recruit volunteers, help with the club financials, and help with the production of the monthly newsletter. The members currently taking responsibility for these jobs will be present to coach you through the onboarding, as their predecessors did for them. The time commitment is not overly demanding. If it feels like a good fit, you might consider taking the lead for a spell! It’s very similar to taking a turn at the head of a paceline!
