Prepare for 2027 Reach the Beach

By Michelle Kirsch, Member at Large, RtB ride Leader

It’s never too early to start planning your 2027 ride calendar!

Ride details:

  • May 22, 2027, which is a week later than last year. I think the logic is to hopefully beat the rain.
  • Four different route lengths ranging from 24 miles to 100 miles
  • All route lengths end at Fort Stevens State Park
  • Fully supported route, so no need for your own SAG
  • Help raise funds for a great cause

Training rides typically start around mid-March. Stay tuned for more details at a later date.

I’ve been getting asked if I plan on leading Reach the Beach rides again in 2027. Well, let me tell you, I really had a blast putting on training rides last year, that I decided to lead again in 2027. It’s really rewarding when you see riders progressing during the training series. Not only this, but also get to enjoy great conversations, meet new people, and great scenery. What more could you ask for!

If anyone is interested or would like more information, please go onto Reach the Beach Oregon 2027 website or if you see me out on club rides. Remember, anyone can join Portland Bicycling Club’s team, club membership is not required. Also, training rides are always open to anyone, whether you’re a club member or not and you also don’t need to be doing Reach the Beach event to participate in training rides.
