Annual SnowCap Donation Drive

Donations for SnowCap Community Services will be collected at our club meeting on December 4. To get a jumpstart on your donations, here are some items on this year’s wish list:
- Canned fish and poultry, chili, hearty stews and soups, peanut butter, canned fruits or vegetables
- Uncooked or canned beans, rice, pasta
- Boxed dessert mixes (e.g., Jello, cake and frosting, brownie or cookie mixes)
- Cooking oils
- Egg cartons, empty (one-dozen size for redistribution of larger quantities)
- Grocery-sized paper bags or clean reusable cloth-type bags
- Gently used coats – all sizes and types
- Men’s clothing
- Children’s clothing (sizes 5T-16)
- Shoes
- Oregon return-for-deposit cans or bottles – rinsed and clean please! Keep glass bottles separate from cans/plastic bottles please. Makes for easier handling. ✎
While SnowCap’s wish list has many things on it, these are the easiest for our “elves” to handle. Our “elf” crew can get a bit over-enthusiastic during the collection process, so give them a heads up if your donation includes glass containers. It would be a shame if the glass broke during the handoff.
This has again been a tough year on so many families. Fortunately, SnowCap does not rely on government funding for operations beyond actual food commodities through USDA. Continued community financial donations, volunteer hands, and supporting donations of food and clothing have allowed SnowCap to be well positioned to face these past months. Thank you to our members for supporting these efforts.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone in December and filling up our Honda Element again!
