PBC Elections in December

The December 5 club meeting will include the election of the 2025 executive board. Most of the board officers have agreed to run again. Others are ready to step away after their volunteer stint, and we will need replacements.

Remember that our club is a democratic non-profit, and any member can run for any office. The fact that we have incumbents willing to remain in office should not be a deterrent. This is your club!

Please 1) contact me at [email protected] or call 360 608-3173 if you would like to run for office, 2) come to the November club member meeting to place or accept nominations from the floor, and 3) come to the December club meeting to vote in the election and share in welcoming our new board. I can promise it won’t be as contentious as the national election!

The positions that are on the December ballot for the January 1 through December 31, 2025, term are president, vice president, treasurer, recording secretary, membership secretary, one road captain, and two members at large. Rob Schroeder will remain as road captain, and Maria Sworske and Gary Lunsford will remain as members at large fulfilling a July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, term.

Jan Oestereich has diligently recorded our club member and board meetings for 2024 but has shared that she will not run for the position again. The job description is below. Past recording secretaries have been very thorough. The minutes can be less so if you find that idea a bit daunting.

DUTIES OF THE RECORDING SECRETARY: Maintain a written record of all executive board and general membership club meetings.

At the time of this writing, Scott Ticknor has not made his intentions known. We may need another member at large. The description from our constitution and bylaws is below. Essentially, you serve as the eyes and ears of the club and help maintain safe riding.

DUTIES OF THE FOUR MEMBERS AT LARGE: Serve as a conduit between board officers and club members.

Richard Higgins, who was serving as our vice president, has moved away. Michelle Kirsch is the appointee, finishing out 2024. She has expressed interest in continuing to serve on the board.

Ann Morrow, President
