Reach the Beach Rescheduled

Reach the Beach, as many of you know, had been scheduled for Saturday, May 16. With a pandemic in our midst, that sort of event is just not possible. Organizers at the American Lung Association have optimistically RESCHEDULED the ride for Saturday, August 15.

With things still tightly shut down and organized rides not taking place, Portland Bicycling Club obviously cannot resume training rides in anticipation of the event. At this time Ride Leader Dick Weber plans to revisit the training rides with an eye to getting some started in June – if that is within the realm of possibility. In other words, stay tuned and if Reach the Beach remains on the schedule and PBC can offer a few more training rides before the event takes place, then we will do so.
