Charitable Donations Summary

Your PBC board met on Wednesday, December 17, via Zoom to determine what dollar amount PBC could afford to share with the community and who might be good beneficiaries for our donations.

Prior to the meeting, several members had submitted their suggestions, all of which were considered. Treasurer Corey Eng provided assurance that the club could afford to allocate an amount comparable to recent years, which would be about $10,000 to $12,000 in total.

There wasn’t a great deal of discussion. The board agreed that some of the previous recipients should be on our list again this year.  Most donations remained the same in amount as the board recognized their ongoing good work. New was the Friends of Ch’ak Ch’ak Trail and Friends of Sharon Nesbit Heritage Park. You have probably enjoyed the Ch’ak Ch’ak Trail out by the Troutdale Airport. You may not yet have ridden the Sharon Nesbit trail. Member Frank Stevens advised us that those areas are not complete, and they want to continue to improve and to add to the amenities to promote cycling for young and old alike. How could we refuse?

CHARITABLE DONATIONS

2025 Amount and Beneficiary:

Just as when we say, “Let the government pay for it,” when we say “PBC paid for it,” the government and PBC are the people – YOU. You worked on Pioneer Century® and Seattle to Portland to earn money for our club. We like to share with our like-minded friends. So, please acknowledge your own contributions in this annual distribution of wealth. The board thanks you for your efforts on the club’s behalf.

Ann Morrow, Outgoing President
