Seattle to Portland 2022

After a hiatus of two years, the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic will be back in full form in 2022! The Cascade Bicycle Club (CBC) of Seattle will again conduct the ride on July 16 and 17, 2022. The CBC will cap the ridership at about 8,000 participants and is expecting a large turnout. As it has for the last 20 years, the STP will finish at Portland’s Holladay Park.

Our club has worked with CBC to conduct the finish-line activities at Holladay Park for years. PBC volunteers handle the necessary permitting with the City of Portland and a myriad number of other tasks to make the STP finish line a success. Our club also relies on dozens of our members who help with the many other jobs needed to put on the show at Holladay Park.  ✎

I know it’s winter, our short-sleeve jerseys are put away and replaced with layers, Showers Pass jackets, and bikes with fenders. Still, it is not too early to contact Corey Eng, me or any PBC board member to offer to help with the 2022 STP. There are some great jobs that need to be filled (really!), and early volunteers get the coveted ones!

Bottom line; the STP is the major fundraiser for our club. Money from the STP pays our bills and my substantial salary, which is zero! So please volunteer your services as soon as possible. You will hear this message from me again…probably a lot! Ride safely my friends!
