Your Club at Work

PBC MERCH: Club socks are here! Get your club socks at meetings or any club ride where ANN MORROW is. Only $10. Cash only, no plastic. A second version of the socks includes the words “Ride Leader” and will be gifted to our 2024 ride leaders at the annual club banquet in February.

SEATTLE TO PORTLAND: Team leaders from the 2024 Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic met via Zoom on November 4 to discuss the 2025 STP. This event is a major financial influx for our club’s coffers. Profits derived from our own Pioneer Century® are a distant third place after club dues. Can we facilitate the Finish Line in 2025 for Cascade Bicycle Club of Seattle?  ✎  Our team leaders seemed to be certain it could be done. That said, we will need additional team leaders (many are returning) and a lead coordinator to oversee all positions (Eric Hendricks plans to ride STP). This message is to advise members that a decision was made to proceed. Please see the article elsewhere regarding charitable contributions for more specifics regarding the financial benefits of STP.

A FRIEND IN NEED: As mentioned a month or so ago, TaborSpace approached Portland Bicycling Club wondering if we could offer help with their prospective purchase of a bike repair station. The board discussed it and determined a limit of $800 could be donated to TaborSpace. The bike station was installed, and PBC sent them a check as promised.    We’ll try to get a ride over that way at some point. We have also discussed with them that we, PBC, would like some sort of recognition for our donation. This is another example of club members working hard, raising money, and then giving it away to a deserving organization.
