Quick Tour of August Rides

Bike MS: Willamette Valley, Saturday-Sunday, August 3-4, Monmouth. An unforgettable two-day journey taking riders around the peaceful Willamette Valley. The fundraising minimum is $250 to participate in this event to change the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis.

Blackberry bRamble, Sunday, August 4Greater Eugene Area Riders (GEARs) invites cyclists to make this event a vacation destination. With pre- and post-ride parties, featuring a catered meal including blackberry cobbler and ice cream. There will be live music, and even showers and swimming for an additional $1.

Luminosa: Morrison Metric Century, Saturday, August 10, Newberg. Benefiting Morrison Child & Family Services, four unique routes with start and finish at Champoeg State Park. Family-friendly, finish-line party featuring lawn games, pop a mystery balloon, jewelry crafting with bike parts, a photobooth and live music.

Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour, Sunday, August 11, Albany. Hosted by the Mid-Valley Bicycle Club,  four different route options crossing up to five historic covered bridges in the Mid-Willamette Valley. The event starts and finishes at the Linn County Fairgrounds. Explore the rural roads, scenic views, open fields, rolling hills, with only a few traffic lights.

Providence Bridge Pedal, Sunday, August 11. Try a 7-bridge, 9-bridge, or 11-bridge route in this classic Portland ride.

RSVP (Ride from Seattle to Vancouver B.C. and Party), Friday-Saturday, August 23-24. Enjoy 188 miles (103 & 85-mile days) of scenic, uncrowded Pacific Northwest backroads, with flat sections, rolling hills, and many hilly sections as well. Hosted by Cascade Bicycle Club, the finish-line festival includes a beer garden, live music, and a meal ticket for food vendors.

Peach of a Century, Sunday, August 25.  The Salem Bicycle Club hosts this ride, starting and ending at Chemeketa Community College. The routes follow low-volume roads past the farm fields of the Willamette Valley, through forested foothills and rural communities east of Salem.

The Idaho Tour, Sunday-Friday, August 25-30. Portland Bicycling Club’s own ride, limited to 30 riders, is full this year, with a waiting list. See more
