The Pioneer Century, our signature ride, our gift to the cycling community, and a source of funding for our operations and charitable giving, was a big success. 368 riders registered and, according to our on site volunteers, the vast majority were enjoying themselves. Some of this was fortuitous, as we had sunny skies and temperatures that were neither too hot nor too cold, but it mostly was because of the many volunteers (too numerous to name here) who were involved in the planning and execution of the event. Thank you all!!

The next big event is coming up on July 11 and 12: the Seattle to Portland Classic. Although the STP is the signature ride of Seattle’s Cascade Bicycle Club, the involvement of our club’s volunteers at the finish line has been instrumental in its success for decades. If you haven’t volunteered to work the finish line, you should do so next year. The camaraderie and experience can rival riding the course itself!
