French Prairie Loop from Champoeg

Description

A scenic tour of the historic French Prairie area south of Champoeg State Park, over mostly flat to rolling terrain (total elevation gain ≈ 500'). We'll stop for coffee at The Banker’s Cup in St. Paul (Note: their pastry selection may be limited so you may want to bring a snack). After the break we'll continue south to the (very) small town of St Louis, then turn north and return to the start. Suggest bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy at the park after the ride.

Notes:

> Meet in the Visitor Center parking lot just inside the park entrance.
> $10 day use parking fee for Oregon residents ($12 for Non-residents). Parking passes can be purchased at the park (credit or debit cards only - the payment machine does NOT take cash). Digital parking passes can also be purchased from the State Parks website.
> This ride uses "Paperless" sign-up only so please sign up online beforehand.
> There's a short ( ≈1/2 mile) gravel section on Case Road a little past mile 26.
> In the event of rain this ride will likely be cancelled - if in doubt be sure to double-check this posting or contact the ride leaders before heading out.
