PBC Pedaling Pilots
PBC joined with the Portland Marathon last month to provide lead cyclists for the full and half marathons. My thanks to the following for their participation:

Everyone was up early and at the start by 6:30 AM. At 7:10 we were off leading out over 4000 runners on the route that took us ✎ through downtown, John’s Landing, Sellwood, Eastmoreland and the inner eastside.
Perhaps the event is best summed up by this thank you note from Nathan Schaffer, the marathon race director:
I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH for the way you came alongside the Portland Marathon this year!!!!!
Someone asked me what my favorite part of the day was, and I told them it was the Portland Bicycling Club and how you engaged with the race both before and during. I even had the chance to be interviewed by a TV station and mentioned what you did; however, they unfortunately decided not to use that part of my commentary in their broadcast.
This relationship has been the highlight of my Portland Marathon experience, and I can’t wait to dig in further to improve things for next year!
